Kim had experienced a profound inner conflict since her youth because she was more attracted to girls than boys. Growing up in a devout Catholic environment, Kim was frightened of speaking to anyone about it for fear of judgment. She felt unloved and lacked inner peace. Finally, she confided in her confessor, who said her feelings were normal. Nevertheless, she felt ashamed, leading her to believe she was somehow wronging God. To feel better, she decided to come out. But her life became even more unhappy. As she seemed to drift further away from God, she felt even more alone, and one day Kim began to weep intensely and asked God for help. Suddenly, in prayer, Kim recognized our Heavenly Father and felt His presence and goodness. Thus, an unquenchable hunger for love for God and for Jesus Christ, our Savior, ignited within Kim. She handed over all her feelings and her entire life into the hands of God, who is love, and she understood that in all inner conflicts, only the love of Jesus Christ can heal. Kim testifies that it is worth loving Jesus.
